DURSTON POTTERY TOOLS
Durston Pottery Tools is dedicated to providing high-quality tools and equipment for potters, designed with the same precision and reliability that have defined the Durston name for over 50 years. While we are a separate company from Durston Tools, we carry forward the same commitment to innovation, durability, and expert craftsmanship that has made Durston a trusted name in toolmaking.
Every tool in our range is designed and manufactured by an experienced team of engineers, ensuring the highest standards for both professional and hobbyist potters.
OUR HISTORY
Durston Tools has been a leader in precision tool manufacturing since the 1960s, originally revolutionizing the jewellery industry with its world-class rolling mills. Over the decades, the company has grown to supply tools to over 50 countries, earning multiple King’s and Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in International Trade along the way.
It all began with William Durston, born September 2, 1935, in Brentford, Middlesex… grew up with a passion for metals and engineering. At just 11, he earned a scholarship to Ealing County Grammar School, later studying engineering and proudly calling himself a “stress analyst” working with metals.
Years later, he decided it was time to build something of his own. In 1970, he designed and manufactured his very first rolling mill… and the rest is history.
Building on this legacy, Durston Pottery Tools was established to bring the same level of quality, innovation, and trusted craftsmanship to the world of pottery. Our tools are engineered to meet the needs of potters at every level, from professional studios to passionate hobbyists.
