Our First Time at NCECA 2026 – A Milestone for Durston Pottery Tools

From 25–27 March 2026, we proudly exhibited at NCECA 2026 for the very first time — a huge milestone for Durston Pottery Tools.

As one of the largest and most respected ceramics events in the world, NCECA has long been a key date in the pottery calendar. To finally be there, meeting so many talented makers, educators, distributors and studio owners face-to-face, was both exciting and incredibly rewarding.

Showcasing Our Elite Wheel

Bringing our equipment to a North American audience was an important step for us. Throughout the show, visitors had the opportunity to experience our Elite Pottery Wheel first-hand — feeling the build quality, testing the smooth control and seeing the precision engineering up close.

And she truly stood out. Beautifully engineered from die-cast aluminium, the Elite has a presence that immediately sets it apart. A fully die-cast wheel is not something commonly found in the market, and visitors were quick to notice the difference — not just in appearance, but in the solidity and refinement of the design. It was wonderful to see people stop, take a second look and appreciate the craftsmanship behind it.

The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on the quiet performance, stability and solid construction. Seeing potters connect with the wheel in person and recognise what makes it different was incredibly rewarding.

Connecting with the Clay Community

Beyond the equipment itself, what made the event special was the community. NCECA brings together people who are deeply passionate about ceramics, from emerging students to established artists and large teaching institutions. The conversations, feedback and shared enthusiasm made the entire experience worthwhile.

For us, this wasn’t just a trade show — it was the beginning of strengthening our presence in the US market and building long-term relationships within the ceramics community there.

Looking Ahead

Our first NCECA has left us inspired, motivated and excited for what comes next. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who visited our stand, asked questions and showed interest in our products.

If this year was our introduction, it certainly won’t be our last.
